"Wo Man" is a photographic journey about gender identity.
It is a journey not only in time, which is apparently suspended, but in the uses, in the customs, in the allegory of the female image in the world.
The research starts from photography as a tableau vivant, then moves on to the production of characters, which the artist reinterprets according to different traditions.
These images are also iconographic, symbols of women and femininity. The subject, the artist, uses her own body and face to personify the stereotyped image, diverse in its uses, customs and roles in different societies.
Roles that are still much discussed, depending on the geographical location. We cannot, in fact, forget how much remains to be done throughout the world on the women's rights front.
In this regard, it is important to remember the work done by the female generations who came before us, which allows us today to enjoy freedoms and rights that didn't exist until recently and that we now have and often ignore, or that we don't do enough to enforce.
