The project “On the walls” is the result of an artists’ residency held in the city of Grosseto, Italy promoted by the Citylab collective, the Municipality of Grosseto and the Cedav Clarisse Arte. It is a photographic story where the artist, acting here as a photojournalist, describes the habits and activities of the young people of Grosseto who take refuge by the city's Medicean walls. This is an unusual place, a symbolic link between the historic city centre and the suburbs, where teenagers spend their days deliberately alienating themselves from society. They live in their own isolated dimension, free from rules and conformism, on the fringe of the law. The choice not to show their faces is not accidental, it is an act deliberately taken by the artist to hide their identity and is a refusal of the young people to show themselves, even in real life.
